St Clement’s Church on Barkerend Road is a Victorian delight built in 1892 and consecrated in 1894 and now a Grade II* Listed building.

This splendid building has many objects of art and craft, many pieces of furniture and wonderful stained glass widows by Charles Kempe.

The church has a Burns-Jones ceiling and murals of angels in the spaces between the arches in the nave which were also the work of Burns-Jones who worked for William Morris.  There is also a Mosaic which was made by Savviotti from Venice.

St Clement’s is not only a place of worship but is used by its members and others in the neighbourhood during the week for many activities and meetings. The Anchor Project Office is also within the building and its mission is for “St Clement’s Church to be a blessing in Barkerend”.

There will also be a small exhibition of photos from members of the congregation.
