The present Haworth Parish Church was built in 1879 on the original site of the old church, parts of which were built in 1488 and still exist today. The Brontë family moved to Haworth on the 25th February 1820.

Patrick Bronte was a conscientious parish priest carrying out his duties as well as superintending and directing the National and Sunday schools. Whilst at Haworth, Patrick's daughters wrote their world famous books.

All the Brontë family, with the exception of Ann are buried beneath the church. Prior to Brontë, in 1742 the incumbent of Haworth Parish Church was Rev William Grimshaw who was dubbed the "Apostle of the North" and was a close friend of John Wesley.

There is a guide available to purchase in the Church.
