The ground on which the church stands was donated by the Duke of Devonshire, with the foundation stone laid in 1878.

Although All Saints exterior can appear a bit dark, once inside, the warmth of this 100 year old Arts & Crafts Church just envelopes you. It's a very prayerful space. There is some lovely wood carving, and the roof in it's traditional upturned boat pattern, is one of only two like it from this period in Yorkshire.

Most windows have clear glass, with a simple art nouveau pattern, the lead Reredos is art nouveau too.

The war memorial window is the only stained glass in Church. Designed by J.A. Salisbury it is based on a popular painting of the period called "The Great Sacrifice". It is a particularly fine early example (1917).

There is an absence of elaborate stained glass but the war memorial window is of particular note. Designed by J. A. Salisbury it is based on a popular painting of the period called "The Great Sacrifice".
