HUDDERSFIELD PARISH CHURCH

Byram Street, Huddersfield, HD1 1BU
Contact: Canon Catherine Ogle, 01484 427964
The main beauty of the church, the east window and baldachino, were both designed by Sir Ninian Comper in memory of the fallen of the First World War. The Elizabethan font is dated 1570 and its cover is said to date from 1640. The carved panelling of the gallery probably dates from the second church to stand on this site. At Huddersfield Parish Church music is of the highest importance in our worship and we are fortunate to have a wonderful choir including many university students. The organ, originally installed by Conachers in 1908, was rebuilt in 1984 by Philip Wood of Huddersfield.
