A Quaker meeting house built in 1815. Visitors are normally struck by it's peace and simplicity. There have been Quakers worshipping on the existing site since 1770 though earlier they had had a Meeting House at Paddock Head. The building used now was built in 1812 and stands next to the so called Adult school. This was erected in 1898 to provide elementary education and religious study for adults who had never had a chance to go to school. The Meeting Room itself is very plain, without ornament or religious symbols. This is both because Quakers believe in simplicity and because they wish to avoid anything that might distract them during silent worship.
