The Church has been a centre of worship since 1868.  We are a United Benefice with St. Paul's, Shepley in the Kirkburton Deanery of the Anglican Diocese of Wakefield. The foundation stone was laid by the 5th Earl of Dartmouth on 23rd August 1866 and the Church was dedicated by the Lord Bishop of Ripon on September 9th 1868.The building, as with many Victorian village churches, is of a simple design built of local stone and has been altered over the years to suit the worship patterns of the time. The general plan of the church includes an entrance porch, nave, chancel, vestry and south aisle.
