Designed by G.F. Bodley, one of the country's great Victorian church architects, St Matthew's is of exceptionally high quality workmanship with good glass. Described by 'Pevsner' as a noble and spacious building this is often missed due to its quiet location. It has a rare font dating from the civil war period (1637).
