The Salvation Army has been serving the district of Gawthorpe (near Ossett) for nearly 125 years. It is now the only Christian church within the village and is both a community centre as well as a worshipping community.
Services are held at 10.30am and 6pm on Sundays, and on Mondays and Tuesdays two lunch clubs are held, from 12:30 – 1:30 pm, serving hot meals to senior citizens.
We also run as well as two parent and toddler groups.
A house group and a friendship and fellowship group meet from 10:45am - 12:00pm noon each Monday.
The Salvation Army also work in the partnership with West Yorkshire Probation Service, providing a work site for Community Service, as well as sharing in child care with the neighbouring Maypole Children’s Centre.
