HUDDERSFIELD FAITH TRAIL
Have you ever wondered what's inside a Mosque, Church or Gurdwara? Maybe you're curious about peoples different beliefs and how that links into the local community?
Well, now is your chance to find out! Treasures Revealed are introducing the development of a faith trail in Huddersfield town centre.
The Faith Trail is just 1.5 miles around Huddersfield town centre and five fascinating places of worship will be opening their doors to welcome visitors from the community or further afield. To find out more about each place of worship click on their name below.
Huddersfield Methodist Mission on Lord Street, HD1 1QA
The Parish Church of St Peter on Byram Street, HD1 1BU
The Guru Nanak Gurdwara on Prospect Street, HD1 2NX
Jamia Usman Masjid at 32 Upper George Street, HD1 4AW
St Patrick's Roman Catholic Church on New North Road, HD1 5JY
The trail will launch on Saturday 21st November 2009, and will then run on the first Saturday of every month starting on 2nd January 2010 and can be walked on foot. It offers a fascinating insight into faith buildings and how they link into Huddersfield's local community culture and faith heritage. You can visit as many places of worship as you like - each place of worship will be open for set times during the day, helping you to plan your route.
In addition, each place of worship will have easy to read information panels and a leaflet, and some will even have guides to answer your questions, and to make your visit more informative and enjoyable.
